DON'T HATE THE PLAYER was one of the best-written books I've ever read. It was witty, hilarious, and nerdy. I couldn't have asked for more from this book!

Something I absolutely adored about this book was its ability to have dual pov without having dual pov. This book is told from the pov of Emilia, but we get glimpses into the mind of our leading man's, head and life. Jake starts off the book with a strong introduction into how he and Emilia met and their relationship thus far. His personality is so clearly laid out without it being a dump of information or quirks that I was in awe. We get a few more glimpses into his head throughout the book with chapters like the initial one, but also through video game chats between him and his team. Again, very cleverly written and clear to get a grip of all the characters' personalities.

Sorta piggy-backing off that paragraph, I have to point out how great Jake was. He's different than a lot of leading men we read about in books. He's awkward and nervous most of the time and isn't rocking a six-pack. He's also sweet, funny, and so stinking adorable that I wish he was my nerd boyfriend.

Okay. Moving on...As perfect and amazing as this book was, I have one slightly negative thing to say about it. I wish, SO BADLY, the romance would have been more descriptive. Like, it's cute and sweet, but we don't get to live through the kisses with the characters. It's pointed out that it's happening and that's that. That's my only complaint.

Overall, I can't recommend this book enough if you love nerd romances and references, are searching for a really well-written novel, and have a bit of a competitive streak. I will love this book forever and ever.

I cannot WAIT to read The Darkening by Sunya Mara. It’s a YA fantasy about a city trapped in the eye of a crazy storm. And about two teens, a revolutionary and a paranoid prince, on opposite sides of conflict trying to figure out how to do the right thing.

A Mutually Beneficial Proposal by Harper Reed is here and ready to be swooned over. With a strong heroine, a vacation setting, and, of course, a fake engagement, what more could you want from a romantic comedy?

Synopsis:
I’m engaged to a stranger.

Okay, maybe not officially, but when Owen Porter spots me floundering for words in front of my ex-fiancé and his new wife, I decide to go along with his little farce. The catch? He wants me to return the favor by being his date to a company mixer.

I’m supposed to be on vacation—forgetting about men. Now, thanks to unforeseen events, I’m not only Owen’s date, but I’m also his hotel roommate.

Lines I didn’t want to cross are quickly blurred, and my best friends convince me that there’s nothing wrong with a vacation fling. That one might help me get over my latest relationship disaster. But as the clock counts down to my departure, I know my feelings aren’t as fake as I’d like them to be. Far from it.

Meeting Owen wasn’t in my plans. Finding out who I am was. But maybe I can make both work… That is, if Owen can prove he isn’t like my other exes: a lying cheat.
