I'm thrilled today to be apart of the bookstagram tour for DOWN WITH THIS SHIP by Katie Kingman! This is the book for all my fandom followers, die-hard shippers, and, of course, fan-fic lovers.

This book follows the story of Kole, a teen who is a die-hard lover of the show The Space Game and a fan-fic writer. When her fan-fic wins a major award, her blog and real-life status both sky rocket. Suddenly, everyone knows who she is and what she writes. And even better, an invitation soon comes for her to speak at a popular The Space Games convention. Things couldn't get better, right?

Wrong. Some people at her school *cough*her competitive writing class peers *cough* are not so thrilled for her. They wanna take away her notoriety and, in turn, her blog. To stop these real life super villains, Kole must face her inner demons and the ones before her or risk losing everything she's worked so hard for.

I just finished reading THE MARVELOUS by Claire Kann (which is THE INHERITANCE GAMES meets WILLY WONKA AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY).

I haven’t decided yet which book I’ll be reading next but it will probably another YA. I’ve been in the mood for something sci-fi so I think I’ll start in that genre.

I had a vague idea of who Rahul and Caterina were from book 1, but it was nice to really get to know them here. I was especially interested in getting to know Caterina as she was the unlikable one in book 1. I think Menon did a fabulous job of developing her character and fleshing out the more important parts of her so we really get a well-rounded look at who she is. Plus, with all her spunk and confidence, it made reading this book so much more fun and made me feel a little more empowered.

Rahul was also a lot of fun to get to know. He is more of a shy character and I wasn't sure whether or not I was going to like him at first. But, of course, I did. Menon has a way of turning all love interests into sparkling princes and princesses. Rahul also had a great development as we see him struggle with the guy he thinks he's supposed to be and the guy he really is. His image in this book is everything and I think there are so many lessons to be learned from Rahul's story.

Overall, I'm happy with the way this book left me feeling and the story I was able to experience. Also, I can't wait to read more of the books in this series!!

One of my favorite summer books is SLEEPAWAY GIRLS by Jen Calonita. I just love books that take place at summer camps and have many strong females as characters. And, of course, I’m a fan of the romance 😍
