I’m engaged to a stranger.
Okay, maybe not officially, but when Owen Porter spots me floundering for words in front of my ex-fiancé and his new wife, I decide to go along with his little farce. The catch? He wants me to return the favor by being his date to a company mixer.
I’m supposed to be on vacation—forgetting about men. Now, thanks to unforeseen events, I’m not only Owen’s date, but I’m also his hotel roommate.
Lines I didn’t want to cross are quickly blurred, and my best friends convince me that there’s nothing wrong with a vacation fling. That one might help me get over my latest relationship disaster. But as the clock counts down to my departure, I know my feelings aren’t as fake as I’d like them to be. Far from it.
Meeting Owen wasn’t in my plans. Finding out who I am was. But maybe I can make both work… That is, if Owen can prove he isn’t like my other exes: a lying cheat.A Mutually Beneficial Proposal is a laugh-out-loud spicy romantic comedy. It’s told in dual POV, and is a full-length standalone included in The Unexpected Series that can be read in any order, but best consumed consecutively
Title: A Mutually Beneficial Proposal: The Unexpected Series

Genres: Adult, Romance, Contemporary
With a strong heroine, a vacation setting, and, of course, a fake engagement, what more could you want from a romantic comedy?
There were three things that made this book uniquely enjoyable from other rom-coms: the chapter titles, Ella’s friends, and the crazy scenarios Ella and Owen got up to. The chapter titles alone had me laughing out loud and trying to figure out what in the world was about to happen in the upcoming chapter. Pair these titles with Ella’s utterly supportive, but insane friends and this book truly was laugh-out-loud funny. I hope Ella’s friends will be the leading ladies in the upcoming books in this series because I loved them so much. And thirdly, the things Ella and Owen were forced into were crazy. A fake engagement in and of itself is nuts, but pair that with a vacation setting and hiding it all from Owen’s prying boss and Ella’s irritating ex-fiance and things become fun.
I would be remiss if I didn’t mention the romance between Owen and Ella. Their chemistry was top-notch and electric. Every time they were in the same room, making that tension-filled eye contact, I wanted to scream. Their scenes together were bonkers, as I’ve already pointed out, but the sweet and romantic scenes were that much better because of the craziness. I loved them together!
Overall, this was a fun and funny rom-com that should absolutely be added to your TBR!
