Carter Beckett is the NHL’s resident bad boy, top player both on the ice and in the bedroom, and quite possibly the sexiest man to ever grace my field of vision. But worst of all? He knows it.
He’s arrogant, self-centered, and the man doesn’t seem to know what a filter is, let alone how to use one. He’s had everything served to him on a silver platter, including endless strings of women, and apparently, I’m up next.
His only problem? I have no intention of falling for his shi—um, charm.
I have the solution to all my sexual frustrations in a drawer at home, and it’s far less complicated than Carter Beckett. Sure, he may be pretty, but he’s also a walking, talking reminder for you to wrap it before you tap it.
But then I start letting my guard down, and he starts showing me pieces of himself I had no intention of seeing. The bricks surrounding me may be tumbling down one by one, but I’m not sold yet, which means for the first time in his life, Carter’s the one begging.
For my time, my trust, for a single chance.
For me to just… consider him.

This book caught me by surprise. I fell so in love with the story and the characters that I’m still obsessed with it a week later.
This book was so freaking funny! I laughed out loud during most of this book. Mack knows how to write funny characters that take the situations and run with them. And the chapter titles were so unexpected and hilarious that I almost want to recommend this book just because of those.
I love the honesty in Carter and Olivia’s relationship throughout the book. From the start, she tells him exactly what she wants from him and he tells her whether he can deliver or not. And then, once things are settled on, they move at a pace that feels honest to themselves and their feelings.
Carter Beckett is my new favorite book boyfriend. He’s so confident and flirty and so obsessed with Olivia it’s insane. And even though I love seeing a confident man, I think I’m in love with nervous Carter. It is the cuuuutest thing ever. It makes him seem like a vulnerable human and a little goofy and it’s so adorable. Also, there were so many times, since this is dual pov, that it felt like Carter was talking directly to me. I loved hearing all of his thoughts and emotions in the moment. They were so much fun. And all the nicknames he had for Olivia were so cute! Eek!
This is very much a character-driven book. There’s not much of a plot, which usually annoys me, but didn’t in this book. I love the characters so much I wasn’t bothered at all by the almost non-existent plot.
Overall, this is one of my new favorite books ever! I’m so excited for this series and can’t wait to watch all my hockey boys fall in love. Read this book and thank me later!
