Callahan
I’m the Kane brother everyone gossips about behind closed doors.
Trust fund brat. Washed-up athlete. High-functioning alcoholic.
No one knows the real me but her.
Lana Castillo—my childhood best friend and the only woman I ever loved.
When I broke her heart six years ago, I promised to never return to Lake Wisteria.
I kept my word until my grandfather’s will changed everything.
To receive my inheritance, I was tasked with spending a summer at the family lake house before selling it.
The request was simple in theory until my entire plan blew up on the very first day.
Turns out Lana doesn’t just live at the house, but she claims to own it, too.

Falling in love with Callahan Kane was a mistake.
He told me so before destroying my heart and our friendship six summers ago.
When he promised never to come back, I foolishly believed him.
But then Cal showed up again, intending to sell his grandfather’s lake house.
The biggest flaw in his plan?
My name is on the deed.

I waited so long for this book and now that it’s over I don’t quite know what to do.
Cal. My wonderful Cal. He was the best one to end the series with. He had to come to terms with so many things and overcome a lot of challenges from his childhood and adulthood lives. He had to grow up, which was a feat all in and of itself. There was so much that needed to be wrapped up in his life and when it all came together, it really unified the series and the brothers.
The romance had a great push and pull to it. This was a second-chance romance between Cal and Lana so things were a little different for him than they were for his brothers. They had to overcome their past relationship and struggles individually and together in order to move together as a couple. I didn’t get the warm and fuzzies from their relationship which is why my 4.5 stars is closer to 4 rather than 5, but I still loved it.
Lastly, this was, by faaaaar, the best written book in the series. There were some astute lines and observations made throughout the book that made me feel like Asher really put her heart into this one. The other two had good stories, but not incredible writing. This one had both, which Cal really deserved.
Overall, this was a great ending to the series and my favorite trio of brothers. I’m excited to see the upcoming series that’s going to take place in the same location as this book!

It definitely was! Plus, there was a little found family thrown in there, which I also love.

This whole series is still on my TBR and I haven’t seen that many people talking about it (or maybe I’m just good at avoiding the reviews, lol) but the ones I’ve seen for this book have been very mixed! I’m looking forward to checking it out though 🙂 Glad you enjoyed it and great review!

I’ve enjoyed this series as a whole. The first book I nearly DNFed, but the second and third I’ve really liked!
