Synopsis
Seventeen-year-old Cassie Hobbes has a gift for profiling people. Her talent has landed her a spot in an elite FBI program for teens with innate crime-solving abilities, and into some harrowing situations. After barely escaping a confrontation with an unbalanced killer obsessed with her mother’s murder, Cassie hopes she and the rest of the team can stick to solving cold cases from a distance.
But when victims of a brutal new serial killer start turning up, the Naturals are pulled into an active case that strikes too close to home: the killer is a perfect copycat of Dean’s incarcerated father—a man he’d do anything to forget. Forced deeper into a murderer’s psyche than ever before, will the Naturals be able to outsmart the enigmatic killer’s brutal mind games before this copycat twists them into his web for good?
With her trademark wit, brilliant plotting, and twists that no one will see coming, Jennifer Lynn Barnes will keep readers on the edge of their seats (and looking over their shoulders) as they race through the pages of this thrilling novel.

Review
Another riveting book in this serial killer series. The intrigue, surprises, and romantic tension continued in this book and made it another 5 star read for me.
We get to know the main characters better in this book, particularly Dean. It was hard to know if any of the Naturals kids could be trusted in the first book, but I feel like my trust in them solidified in this one. I feel like there is still so much to learn about each person, but I got a better grip on their personalities and backgrounds in this book.
Just like the first, the plot in this one was superb. There’s a new serial killer that is somehow connected to Dean’s dad so we get to explore Dean’s past and how it all connects to this new case.
Dean…I just wanted to wrap him up in a roll of bubble wrap so he could never be hurt again. He went through so much as a kid and he’s forced to confront all of that, plus live through more. I just wanted to cry every time someone said or did something to him. By the end, I was ready to fight anyone who even looked at him the wrong way. Needless to say, I’m committed to protecting him now.
The love triangle continued in this book. I was honestly a little confused, possibly disappointed, by how things ended romantically in this book. I’m interested in receiving more of an explanation on things in the next book.
Overall, this book was off-the-chain amazing! I can’t wait to read the next two in the series!
