There are plenty of good books coming out this year (and plenty that have already come out), but there are a few that stand out from the rest. I’ve compiled a list of a few of the most anticipated books of ’20.
1. Majesty by Katharine McGee
Majesty is the highly anticipated sequel to “American Royals”. It has a stunning cover, an exciting summary, and big shoes to fill. This one is at the absolute top of my list. It’s due to hit bookshelves on September 1st.
2. Instant Karma by Marissa Meyer
Marissa Meyer is known for her two fantastic series, The Lunar Chronicles and The Renegade trilogy. This time, she is sharing a stand-alone book about a girl who has the power to cast instant karma on those who she doesn’t like. I can’t wait to see how Meyer’s structures a book that won’t have a sequel. It is due to be released on November 3rd.
3. The Cousins by Karen McManus
Karen McManus is the queen of YA thriller and murder mystery. The book revolves around a set of cousins (hence the title) that come together for summer only to find that their grandmother and entire family are hiding far more secrets than The Dead Scrolls. The Cousins is set to make its appearance December 1st and I can hardly wait for it!
4. Recommended for You by Laura Silverman
I love a good rom-com so I can’t wait for this one to come out. It’s about 2 booksellers who are competing for a “best bookseller” bonus, but might find more than a rivalry along the way. This rom-com is due to hit the shelves on September 1st.
5. Influence by Sara Shepard & Lilia Buckingham
Sara Shepard has already established her seat in the council of “authors that write incredible YA suspense and mystery books” so I can’t wait to get a look into her new world. It is a very modern book with a premise revolving around social media and teen influencers. It comes out on June 30th.
I hope this list gets you as excited for these books to come out as I am. And if you haven’t read American Royals, the book that comes before Majesty, I’d recommend getting your hands on it soon.
Until next time!
