How come I didn’t know this book existed sooner?! I absolutely loved it! In fact, I have no idea where to start because I feel like I’m just going to be praising the whole book. Get comfortable.
The writing style was so much fun and immediately made me feel like I was in Daisy, the main character’s, head. Her unique sass and humor was evident from page one and never stopped through the rest of the book. As well, it was funny! More than once I would ask myself how she thought of this stuff because it was randomly relevant and hilarious.
On top of that, Daisy’s parents had quirky and distinct personalities as well! I didn’t realize how I was longing for parents with personalities outside of the cookie-cutter ones I feel like I see in every YA romance novel until I read this book. Daisy’s dad has similar humor to hers while her mom shares similar mannerisms and nervous tics. I loved getting to know them.
As well, before many of the chapters, and in some of them, there are news stories thrown in that add more details to the situation and bring in more humor. They were wonderful and welcome additions to the story.
And the romance! eek! It was a great enemies to lovers, slow-burning romance that had me aching to see them together. It’s only about half-way through that we really start making progress on their relationship, but I found that I didn’t mind. Something that I loved that Hawkins included in their romance was all the awareness to cheesy, cliche things happening to them. As a reader, I loved that the cliche, romantic things were happening to them, but I also loved that Daisy was aware it was all cliche.
If I could sum up my experience, I would say I was consistently surprised, often overjoyed, and stupendously satisfied. Rachel Hawkins. You’ve done it again!

I just finished this book last week and I’m happy to find someone to gush about it! It’s so good right! It’s just the abrupt ending that kills me. I want to know more about Miles and Daisy’s relationship!
Yes. I agree that the ending was a little abrupt. I’m assuming that’s because there are more books in the series, even though they’re not from Daisy’s POV. I haven’t read the second book yet though.
