A big thanks to San at Behind the Sentence for tagging me in this. This book blog tag was created by A Perfection Called Books and Dana Square. This is my first tagged post for this blog so I hope I don’t mess it up too badly. lol. I really enjoyed being able to examine my TBR as I was writing this so I hope this list gives you some ideas of some of the great books out there. Without further ado, my TBR answers.
How do you keep track of your TBR?
I have a spreadsheet from Reader Voracious that I love and is super helpful. Also, my shelves on Goodreads are really nice.
Is your TBR mostly print or ebook?
Are we talking about the books I own that I haven’t read? I have a good mix of both right now. I kinda went on a crazy buying spree and now I have to read them all. It’s a good problem to have.
How do you determine which book from your TBR to read next?
Honestly, just whichever book sounds the most interesting to me. I know I can’t really put them in order or else I won’t be super motivated to read so I just have to read whatever I’m in the mood for. Right now, I’m in a contemporary romance mood, but I have to read the second Trials of Apollo book since it gets returned to the library soon.
A book that’s been on your TBR the longest.
A couple of books that I’ve had in my personal library for a while, but still haven’t read are READY PLAYER ONE by Ernest Cline and ETIQUETTE AND ESPIONAGE by Gail Carriger. I really want to read them both, I just usually end up wanting to read other books more.
A book that you recently added to your TBR.
I recently bought THE BEST LAID PLANS by Cameron Lund and I can’t wait to read it!
A book that is on your TBR strictly because of its beautiful cover.
Maybe AMBER AND DUSK by Lyra Selene? It sounded so interesting when I bought it, but now I can’t bring myself to read it. *sigh*
A book on your TBR that you never plan on actually reading.
I got about 30 pages into BURNING GLASS by Kathryn Purdie and decided I couldn’t read it. I’m not sure what it is about it, but I don’t think I’ll ever finish it. It has a nice cover, though.
An unpublished book on your TBR that you’re excited for.
I CANNOT WAIT for the next book in the Dimple and Rishi series, 10 THINGS I HATE ABOUT PINKY. I’ve loved this series and the author’s writing style so I’m seriously so excited for this one to come out.
A book on your TBR that basically everyone has read except you.
It seems like everyone is talking about BEACH READ so I have to read it. I’m a sucker for a good romance so I think I’ll enjoy it once I get my hands on it.
A book on your TBR that everyone recommends to you.
I’ve been hearing sooooo much about RED, WHITE, AND ROYAL BLUE, but I still haven’t bought it. I really want to read it though so it will in my library soon enough.
A book on your TBR that you are just dying to read.
ALEX, APPROXIMATELY is pretty high on my list and FOUR DEAD QUEENS. I really want to get back into action and adventure and fantasy so I hope FOUR DEAD QUEENS can jumpstart that for me.
The number of books on your Goodreads TBR shelf.
147 is the final number. Yikes. I probably need to go through this list and purge out the books that no longer sound very interesting to me, but for now, that’s my number. However, I own about 25 books that I want to read first so that’s much more doable.
That’s it for me! If you’ve read any of the books I’ve mentioned above, I’d love for you to comment below what you thought of it.
I’d like to tag Fangirl Pixie Blog, The Book Family Rogerson, and anyone else who wants to join in on this TBR book tag!

I use Kal’s spreadsheet as well! It’s so useful! I love how many different charts and graphs it has! I also use Goodreads because I find that helpful as well, plus it keeps track of my reading challenge for me!
And I’m a mood reader as well! Sometimes my mood will change from day to day, so I normally have a few books that I’m currently reading, and each day I pick up the book that fits my mood the best!
I adore Red, White, & Royal Blue! It was one of my favorite books of 2019! I’m definitely going to join the hype train and recommend that you read it!
I currently have 46 books on my Goodreads TBR, and that’s a lot for me! I like having it closer to 30 because that seems like a much more manageable number!
Great post! It was really fun learning about your TBR habits and how they’re similar to mine in some ways and very different in others!

I should probably purge my TBR so I have a more manageable number like you. I feel like that would be more helpful for me.

147 is crazy! I only have 40 on my Goodreads TBR shelf, but then again I never update it so the actual number is probably much higher… I always find it slightly confusing when I see people ask Twitter for recommendations on what to read next – as if they don’t have a list of 100 books waiting to be read 😂

Yes! I always think the same thing! I feel like my mind is always overflowing with what book I want to read next.
