Synopsis

She’s on the fast track to valedictorian. He…may or may not have been napping in class.

They say opposites attract? Well nerdy Anna and rebel Zach are on a mission to prove them wrong. For science, of course.

As partners in a psychology class project, their job is to fool a dating app into thinking they’re a love match. A few fake dates, some online interaction, and everyone walks away with an A. Easy peasy, right?

Wrong. This lab experiment? It’s about to blow up in their faces.

Review

This was a fun, quick read that hit a lot of cliche tropes, but did it well. If you enjoyed The Code for Love and Heartbreak, then this is definitely one to check out!

I really like the two main characters in this story, Zach and Anna. They complimented each other and made this story interesting. I love cliche tropes and storylines and this was certainly one of the better stories with them.

I thought Zach was going to be the stereotypical bad-turned-good, but he was actually someone else. He had similar characteristics of the motorcycle-riding, tattoo-covered bad boy, but with more pizazz. I loved getting to read part of the book from his POV because I learned he was funny, and kind, and had made some past mistakes that he wanted to correct. He wasn’t angry and brooding as is so often portrayed in similar characters, but he was fun and encouraging and lovable.

Anna had the stereotypical role of being the geek, but what made her a little different was her willingness to look outside the box. She was open-minded and wanted to learn more about Zach and his interests. She wasn’t just completely focused on schoolwork and the assignment her and Zach needed to work on.

Also, I didn’t know at the beginning that this was somewhat of a short story. But, I still felt like it had pretty good pacing. There was still conflict and change and all the other things that make a good story. I’ll be reading the other books in this series for sure!
