Summary
Fall in love, break the curse.
Cursed by a powerful enchantress to repeat the autumn of his eighteenth year, Prince Rhen, the heir of Emberfall, thought he could be saved easily if a girl fell for him. But that was before he turned into a vicious beast hell-bent on destruction. Before he destroyed his castle, his family, and every last shred of hope.
Nothing has ever been easy for Harper. With her father long gone, her mother dying, and her brother constantly underestimating her because of her cerebral palsy, Harper learned to be tough enough to survive. When she tries to save a stranger on the streets of Washington, DC, she’s pulled into a magical world.
Break the curse, save the kingdom.
Harper doesn’t know where she is or what to believe. A prince? A curse? A monster? As she spends time with Rhen in this enchanted land, she begins to understand what’s at stake. And as Rhen realizes Harper is not just another girl to charm, his hope comes flooding back. But powerful forces are standing against Emberfall . . . and it will take more than a broken curse to save Harper, Rhen, and his people from utter ruin.

Review
WOW. WOW. WOW. The hype was not wrong. This book was incredible!
From the beginning, I was sucked in. The plot started almost immediately and never slowed down. I kinda felt like I being was whisked away with the main character, Harper, into this other world and into a new life. The book moved at a great pace without being too fast. WOW.
And the characters…I fell in love with the prince and his guard from the beginning. They’re both so different, but oh so loveable. Honestly, they could have killed every character in the book and I still would have loved them. WOW.
And Harper was so great! She never seemed to falter in her strength and fortitude. I forgot most times that she had Cerebral Palsy because she just embodied confidence and power. And I love that she was aware of the stereotypes that come from the original Beauty and the Beast story. She was aware of Stockholm Syndrome and didn’t just fall at the prince’s feet after he did one good thing. She was very careful and didn’t just jump into a relationship. I really loved that.WOW.
The only thing that I didn’t love was the ending. The thing is, I can’t quite put my finger on what it was I didn’t love. Hopefully, the next book will resolve my dislikes from this first book ending.
THAT PLOT TWIST THO. I did not see that coming. That was something I did like from the end. WOW.
Overall, WOW. I know you’re probably tired of me saying that now, but it was really sosososo good. I can’t wait to read the next book because I already feel like I’m dying a little bit.
