Synopsis

It rains on Sarah’s wedding day. As luck would have it, she isn’t getting married. Instead she’s riding her bike, Cecelia, through the soggy English countryside and trying to figure out where her plans for a simple country wedding went wrong.

When Cecelia is stolen and Sarah is stranded in the tiny village of Hope, she refuses to call her fiancé, Amir, to be rescued. Instead, she accepts the help of Michael, a self-sufficient farmer who left his big city dreams—and his cheating fiancée—for a simple life in Hope.

Michael uses the village calling tree to spread the word about Cecelia. In return, Sarah helps Michael on his farm, where she soon discovers a hidden talent as a chicken whisperer, persuading Michael’s rebellious chickens to lay. Before long, Sarah sees all she’s been missing in her city life—family, community, fun—and Michael thinks he may just have found the perfect partner for experiment in simple living.

But when her fiancé tracks her down and begs her to come home, Sarah must choose between a straightforward life with a near-perfect man or a reckless adventure with Michael.
