Liv Papandreas has a dream job as a pastry chef at Nashville’s hottest restaurant. Too bad the celebrity chef owner is less than charming behind kitchen doors. After she catches him harassing a young hostess, she confronts him and gets fired. Liv vows revenge, but she’ll need assistance to take on the powerful chef.
Unfortunately, that means turning to Braden Mack. When Liv’s blackballed from the restaurant scene, the charismatic nightclub entrepreneur offers to help expose her ex-boss, but she is suspicious of his motives. He’ll need to call in reinforcements: the Bromance Book Club.
Inspired by the romantic suspense novel they’re reading, the book club assists Liv in setting up a sting operation to take down the chef. But they’re just as eager to help Mack figure out the way to Liv’s heart… even though she’s determined to squelch the sparks between them before she gets burned.

Okay. It’s official. I love this series!
The opening scene of this book was *chefs kiss* That is how you grab a reader’s attention and hook them. It also told me so much about these characters and immediately made them feel more endearing.
Mack is a man written by a woman and happily so. He is the most feminist man I’ve ever read about and I never want to let him go! He had his own worries and problems he had to work through, but he cared so much about the people around him that it was adorable. Also, his patience with Liv was so cute.
Liv is not my favorite character ever, but she was real. She tried to do what she thought was best, which wasn’t always the right thing. I appreciated her efforts even if they didn’t always lead to the best consequences. She and Mack are well-matched. I’m excited to see where their relationship goes.
Since this has enemies-to-lovers vibes (really, it’s just Liv hating Mack), banter is necessary. And banter there was! Adams delivered like only she can with witty dialogue, strong women, and groveling men.
A few random thoughts:
• chicken + Vlad = true love
• Braden freaking Mack
• Vlad
Overall, this was just as good, possibly even better than The Bromance Book Club. I cannot wait to continue this series and see how some of my other favorite characters *cough cough* Vlad *cough* happily ever afters go!
